We are so happy with our doggie that we bought from Fern and David in March of this year. Ranger is such a happy and healthy little pup and his disposition is so fun-loving and confident. I think a lot of this comes from Fern and David s intense TLC! As well, they are so informative and knowledgeable about treating your dog holistically and naturally whenever possible rather than falling victim to the billion dollar vet industry (over-medications, over-vaccinations). I am so thankful to them for this knowledge and felt confident turning down medication a vet wanted my pup to take for prevention when it is not necessary and damaging to him...anyway Fern and David are always available for questions and awesome breeders! Highly, highly recommend!-

I found Fern and David through the CKC. I was looking for a dog that would not bother my allergies. They opened their home to me and allowed me to stay as long as I liked. The dogs are like their children. They are raised with so much love and care. The dog I adopted is amazing!! He is friendly, loving and a wonderful addition to our home. I would highly recommend a dog from this breeder.

Our one year search came to an end when we found Fern. Unlike other breeders, she welcomed our questions and took time to answer each one. We found her transparency refreshing and we appreciate her extensive knowledge. Not a day goes by where Nalu doesn't make us smile with his silly antics. As a puppy he was very rambunctious and mouthy but with gentle and persistent training he is now eager to please and has the sweetest personality. He has added so much joy to our lives and we can't imagine life without him.

I was so excited to find a bichon breeder who rears naturally and feeds raw. I brought home my little girl Sienna (who just crawled up on my lap to supervise my review) almost 3 weeks ago and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The puppies are vibrant and thriving, and they grow up in Fern and David's home. Everything is pristine (which I imagine is a tall order with so many tiny bladders) and all the dogs seem happy and well cared for. I had a chance to meet Nevada (Sienna's mom) and Seventh Heaven (another mom) and they are as sweet as can be with fantastic temperaments. Sienna's personality is outstanding. Playful and eager to interact. She has a healthy attachment to me already, but loves playing with other people too. And she's SO smart.
She's well-socialized already, which is wonderful. She has no problem going new places and meeting new people/dogs. I have an 11 year old maltese as well who has no interest in wrestling with Sienna, but is so much more tolerant of her puppy antics than I anticipated. My vet said (and it makes sense) that it's because Sienna is responding appropriately to the cues my maltese is giving her. And it's true, Sienna respects Gabby's space even while she's pouncing around her, and a brief warning growl is all it takes to calm her down if she gets too rowdy. But when she meets a dog who wants to play, like my friend's year old cavalier king charles spaniel, Sienna playfully nips, chases and wrestles.
She's pretty much perfect. And that has everything to do with how she was bred.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Fern and David, 100%.

I adopted Kramer from Fern and David 13 years ago. When I went to select him from the litter, I was impressed with the cleanliness of their facility. She maintains more strict infection control practices than I have often observed in nursing homes! Each puppy is hand raised and is well socialized. This was my first experience owning a dog and Fern provided so much helpful information. I could tell each puppy was “her” puppy, because she followed up by telephone after the adoption to make sure he was doing well, giving appropriate advice as needed. Kramer is still a loving companion. He’s slowed down a bit with age, but so have I! He gets along well with other dogs and has been patient with my five grandkids under 8. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this breeder. In fact, if you buy a bichon from anyone else, you must be getting second best!

We are from Southern California after an intense research for a legitimate Bichon Frise breeder, checked out Fern Flett’s kennel where the Bichon Frise were housed, it’s clean and not only that each dog has been cared for one at a time Fern’s team is consistent with what is being said on their website, customers service is second to none all questions are intelligently answered even after years of having Starlett our angel from Canada one of Fern’s Show Dogs litter. The kennel is top-notch. The dogs are so well loved and care for that I wouldn't hesitate to refer her to anyone. Always ready to answer any questions whenever you call or email. Shares her vast knowledge about how to raise your dog as natural as possible. The dogs always come first because it is not just a job but a labour of love. Blessed to have found an amazing breeder.

Bichon Lovers are top notch natural breeders! We did a lot of research before we were lucky enough to find exceptional breeders like Fern and David Flett. We were so impressed with their natural, holistic approach to breeding that we knew we had to get our pup from them — even though they are located in Ontario and we live in BC.
Fern and David are extremely knowledgeable and they raise their puppies in a loving, healthy environment. It’s just so obvious that they love what they do.
We adopted our little boy, Cooper from them last Spring. He's a beautiful, happy, healthy little guy with a wonderful temperament. He loves everyone — especially kids and other dogs. He is so social and outgoing that we are planning to adopt another pup from Bichon Lovers this Spring — a little girl this time — so that Cooper will have a constant companion to play with.

The last pet I had was a poodle/terrier mix who passed away 14 years ago. I had developed sensitivities over the years and had been looking for a while for a low allergic breed. After much research I decided on a Bichon and my next search was a breeder. Bichon Lovers are amazing. Fern nearly held my hand for 3 months till I got my little Rio. Information she supplied was endless and here I am 6 months later still getting advice and guidance from Fern who is always willing. The care and environment David provides for their Bichon's is like a real nursery for babies. I love Rio so much he has brought a richness to my life that I did not know was missing. In a year I'll be back for another. Thanks so much Fern and David.

I adopted my Bichon Frise from Bichon Lovers and it was probably one of the best things I ever did! My Popcorn (bichon) is beautiful, healthy and strong (he is over 20lbs); he has a wonderful personality, loves all people and animals and is extremely friendly and good-natured/well-tempered. He is undoubtedly a product of Fern and David's amazing expertise with breeding Bichons. Popcorn is now over a year old and I still maintain contact with Fern/David--they are full of wonderful advice and information and are extremely supportive whenever I have any questions. I can't express enough how positive my adoption experience is with them (and continues to be). I would whole-heartedly and very enthusiastically refer anyone looking for a Bichon to Fern and David!

We have been an exclusively Bichon home, for close to 20 years now and our biological twin girls, (from Fern & David) Bichon Lovers, Bella & Ciara, are children number 4 & 5. Our first two bichon girls came from different CKC Registered Breeders who were no longer breeding Bichons so we too were left in limbo when we lost our beloved Dakota in April of 2014. Little Dixie was just 2 years old when Kota passed from Thyroid cancer and we desperately wanted to find a sibling for her. I too contacted every Bichon Breeder in Canada, not to mention a half dozen US Breeders without any luck, until we found Fern & her Bichon Lovers kennel. Not being much of a Social Media type person ( I don't Facebook, Tweet, Twitter nor subscribe to Instagram) I was totally unaware of how transparent Ferns breeding program was at the time of our search. There simply isn't another Breeder out there with her own website, & YouTube Channel which speaks volumes as to the time & effort Fern devotes to her breeding program. We were pleasantly surprised to see her disclose as much info as she does, regarding the Bichon Mums, Dads and previous litters that she has had for the past several years, complete with tons of References & Testimonials from previous adoptive families... something else that no other Bichon Breeder offers. She is the only Breeder that permits you to actually select the gender of your puppy, not to mention select the very puppy that your family would like from her current litters.... something no one else would even consider. One year later, Fern has always been quickly & readily available to respond to any questions that we have had. We have had numerous pre Adoptive Facetime sessions with her and a handful of Facetime calls since our Adoption on November 15th, 2015. If you haven't already put your deposit down on your puppy then do so immediately!! Fern's puppies literally fly out the door annually, and Fern really honours the timing of Deposits when it comes to a First Come First choice scenario. With regards to Fern & David's home and kennel.... she and David have an immaculate home and well thought out, incredible Kennel and Nursery!! They are absolutely & steadfastly devoted to, as well as scientifically knowledgeable about, Nutrition, health, complete puppy rearing.... they don't simply Breed puppies to rush them out the door. Incredible as it may seem, Fern & David really have a hands on approach for every puppy born in their home. They intimately know each of their Mums, Dads and temperament of the puppies born and these Bichons are totally clean, healthy, doted over & loved long before they reach their forever homes. Our twins are super alert, extremely bright, very social and easily trained. They are playful, interactive, and most importantly, chemical free as well as healthy inside & out! We have watched them grow into beautiful, clever, healthy dogs that we are proud to own and show off! I could go on and on but I think that you probably have the info you need to make your decision.
